We conserve water through outreach, restoration, and research.

Some of our greatest Freshwater sources are threatened by our poor sustainability practices. We aim to protect these areas from inappropriate development and preserve sources in bad conditions, but we cannot achieve our goals alone. Find out how you can help.

The Problem

  • Fresh and unpolluted water accounts for 0.003% of total water available globally

  • Many areas of the world are already experiencing stress on water availability

  • Due to the pace of population growth and an increase in the amount of water a single person uses, it is expected that this situation will continue to get worse

  • A shortage in the future would be detrimental to the human population as it would affect everything from sanitation, to overall health and the production of food

This NASA study finds that Earth’s wet land areas are getting wetter and dry areas are getting drier due to a variety of factors, including human water management, climate change and natural cycles.
